Our Lady Queen of Peace
Archdiocese of Galveston - Houston

Welcome!
From Father Chacko

WELCOME,
I am very happy to welcome you to Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1220 Cedar Drive, in La Marque, Texas in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Queen of Peace is the only Catholic Church in the city of LaMarque, in Galveston County. We are located at the intersection of Cedar Drive and Laurel Street. We are just two blocks west from Highway 3 on Cedar Drive. At this intersection we have three churches – the First Baptist Church at the southeast corner, the Family Unity Baptist Church at the southwest corner and the Queen of Peace Catholic Church at the northwest corner. The LaMarque-Texas City Connect bus service has a stop at the east side of Queen of Peace on Laurel Street.

The community of Queen of Peace is truly a catholic community with members from the different ethnic groups and cultural traditions and national origins. Whites, blacks, Hispanics and Asians all together make up the Catholic Community as the one body of Christ. Everyone feels at home here and loves and respects one another. All are happy about their ethnic diversity that enriches the one parish family.

Under the patronage of Blessed Mother Mary as Our Lady, Queen of Peace, the catholic community feels especially called to be instruments of God’s peace both by offering special prayers for peace and by engaging in activities that will promote peace both in the community and in the world. We recognize that peace is the gift of God and that God desires all people to live in peace. God sent his only Son into the world as the prince of peace. Love, joy and peace are the fruits of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer and activities for peace are to help us live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit of God.

We celebrate the holy sacrifice of the mass, the Holy Eucharist, everyday at 8:00 a.m. We have other additional prayer services on Sundays, on Saturdays and on Wednesdays. Religious education classes are on Sundays and Wednesdays. Special discussion sessions/classes for those desiring to know more about the Catholic Church and its teachings are on Tuesdays in the evening. For further information please call the parish office @ 409-938-7000.

I cordially welcome you to Queen of Peace. Let us pray for and live and enjoy the peace God alone can give us. Let us become instruments of God’s peace in the world more and more every day. May the peace of the Lord be with you!

Yours in His service,

Father Chacko Puthumayil
